Vaughn Zrain

Vaughn Zrain is a Ph.D. student and graduate research assistant in Educational Studies (EDS) with the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) department in the OU Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education (JRCoE).

Before attending the University of Oklahoma, Vaughn completed a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education in English with a minor in Spanish. She taught English, Speech(debate/forensics), and Theater in public schools for 7 years before transitioning back to school full time. Vaughn also holds a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Southwestern College of Kansas. Her research emphasis and interests relate to LGBTQ+ representation in education, queering research methods, and archiving queer history in secondary education, including students and teachers. 

Through CEDaR, Vaughn wants to help support students, staff, community, and faculty with navigating education, research exploration, and skill development. Outside of work and classes, Vaughn and her partner live with their son and 2 dogs.
