Four-Year Research Engagement

Interdisciplinary NSF Funded Research Project

For this interdisciplinary project, CEDaR worked on the grant proposal in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI) from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for a four-year longitudinal study, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2017. Specific focus is placed on the development of assessment tools that look to characterize the learning mindset and successfully launching on a STEM research professional track. CEDaR’s external evaluation branch provides unbiased, impartial evaluation expertise to ensure that NSF’s Common Guidelines for Educational Research and Development and the goals of the specific Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Education and Human Resources (IUSE-EHR) solicitation are met. CEDaR conducted an extensive literature review to create the research constructs including surveys, questionnaires, and assessments that were reviewed by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) located at the Norman campus of the University of Oklahoma.
