Collaboration

Graduate Student Working Group

CEDaR invites doctoral students who are in the writing phase of their dissertation, or any student who wants to work on independent research projects, to join this graduate student working group. The working group provides a time and space for students who are no longer in coursework, or who want a network of early scholars, to build community, collaborate and get feedback on their dissertation/project. This group meets weekly on Mondays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Collings Hall room 340. You can come and go as needed. This working group decides how to structure their work time. Bring a project or a question. CEDaR can provide resources for working group members such as faculty guests, workshops, help with department dissertation processes and more.

If you have not been able to meet on Mondays, and you are interested in collaborating, we are creating a graduate student collaboration database. Please add yourself to this list so that other students can reach out to you, and you can contact others:

Faculty Working Group

CEDaR invites faculty members who are interested in applying for external funding this year to join this working group. While we want to offer tailored support for grant applications, any faculty member interested in expanding grant skills or discussing research projects, is welcome to join. This group focuses on entry level grants specific to education. CEDaR supports the needs of the faculty in this group, to include, but not limited to, invitation of scholars outside of OU to provide workshops or feedback on proposals, and graduate student research assistance in preparing and writing proposals. CEDaR has begun to build a working list of entry level external funding to target, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BM2F12HCstJU6OWJSnf8UsjbXi1wMGEwi0gz9HivjRw/edit?usp=sharing. The idea is to build specialized discussion and support relevant to the grant programs of interest to faculty in attendance. This working group meets weekly on Wednesdays from noon until 1 p.m. in Collings Hall room 340.
